This beautiful habitat was once the intended site of a nuclear power plant before the effort was stopped by community opposition in the 1980's. Conservation-minded landowners subsequently purchased a good deal of Williams Point and protected the majority of the land. This conservation easement was donated to Skagit Land Trust several decades ago. The underlying property remains with the family who made the donation. It protects six acres on the north end of Samish Island. The property includes 700 feet of rocky shoreline. One house may be built on the property and clear cutting of the forest is prohibited protecting the land for forests and for wildlife habitat.
This is a private property, not open to the public.
