This easement protects 60 acres of riparian habitat on the Skagit River and Youngs Slough, which includes more than 6,000 feet of shoreline. Property can never be developed, and 45 acres of diverse lowland forest will be left in its natural state forever. The easement was acquired through a combination of landowner donation and funds from the state’s Salmon Recovery Funding Board and Skagit Land Trust.
