Iron Mountain - Seattle City Light Property

Property Description

Seattle City Light purchased this ranchland along the South Skagit Highway with technical assistance from Skagit Land Trust. Seattle City Light used funds designated for "early action" recovery of Chinook salmon, as well as a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. This property and the two miles of Skagit River frontage associated with it are now protected permanently under a conservation easement held by Skagit Land Trust. Seattle City Light is committed to restoring the riparian vegetation on the shore of the property, while maintaining farming activities away from the river.
