This prime agricultural land was acquired in a large purchase of land from Kimberly-Clark in 2001. Kimberly-Clark owned the property for its potential in hybrid poplar production. Skagit Land Trust owned and leased the land for several years while negotiating the sale of a farmland easement to Skagit County. The Trust has since sold the land, protected by an easement that extinguished development rights, to a local organic farmer who currently harvests hay from the fields.
