SLT Speaker Series Presents: Soul of the Skagit

Happening Thursday, November 13th @ 6pm - 7:30pm, on Zoom

Skagit Land Trust is kicking off our Fall/Winter online speaker series with "Soul of the Skagit - Stories of Conservation and Connectedness" -- an evening of stories and images from award-winning author and photographer Christian Murillo. Christian will focus on his 2023 book Soul of the Skagit as he explores the topics of climate change, conservation, and interconnectedness in the Skagit River Watershed.

Christian Murillo is a photographer, author, and environmental storyteller based in Bend, Oregon. During the pandemic, he spent three years working in the Skagit, eventually publishing his book Soul of the Skagit in 2023. This book, along with his other work, seeks to reveal nuanced relationships within nature, and explore where humans lie in those spiderwebs of intricacies. He has worked with organizations such as National Geographic, Backpacker Magazine, Hydroflask, 1859 Oregon, Red Bull, and Sidetracked Journal to share stories about our natural world.
