Conservation Area Maintenance

Sep 2016 16

2:00 PM to 4:30 PM
Minkler Lake

Details: Extra hands are needed for our 3rd Friday work party at Minkler Lake Conservation Area.

Join staff and volunteers in our efforts to control butterfly bush from becoming established in this low-lying area just off of the Skagit River. The plants are still very small and will easily be removed by hand, but there is a large number of them at this time and we don't want them to get any larger. This event is appropriate for ages 12 and up.

What to bring: A full water bottle. The area should be dry but waterproof hiking boots or barn boots are recommended. Dress for a warm sunny day there is not much canopy cover where we will spend most of the time.

Directions: Just east of Sedro-Woolley on Highway 20, make a sharp right on Minkler Road. Parking is undeveloped, but there are spaces near ecology blocks or just west of house #28576. Please call 360.428.7878 for any questions.

Hope to see you there!
