Please join Skagit Land Trust this Friday to learn about current and future projects and issues of interest relating to Guemes Conservation Areas.

We will be meeting at Guemes Community Center. Doors open at 5:15, and the meeting will run from 5:30 - 7:30.

Agenda

5:15-5:30    Refreshments - Attendees will have a few minutes to sign in, get refreshments. 

5:30-5:40    Meeting Agenda and Guemes Maps - Review planned agenda; introductions, SLT overview and maps of Conservation Areas and Conservation Easements. 

5:40-5:50    Farm and Ag Use - SLT will present a quick overview of the future of agriculture in the valley.  

5:50-6:20    Valley Wetland - SLT will present a quick overview of the valley wetlands and efforts to address flooding on Edens Rd, follow with Q&A 

6:20-6:30    Break 

6:30-6:45    Community Discussion on Agriculture in the Valley - Attendees will have a few minutes to discuss their vision for the future of agriculture in the valley and discuss together and with SLT.  

6:45-6:50    Mountain Bald Management - SLT will provide a quick overview of the proposed mountain bald management with grant funding provided by USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Service. 

6:50-7:00    Public Access - SLT will provide a quick overview of public access to the valley, mountain trail, and future parking.
