3rd Friday Stewardship!

Jan 2017 20

10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Barney Lake - Bell

Keep going with those Stewardship resolutions and join us at Barney Lake - Bell for our Third Friday Stewardship Event! Barney Lake is one of our largest properties at 361 acres and is host to MANY migratory birds, amphibians, and other wildlife. Its large open water, wetland borders the Nookachamps Creek which provides salmon habitat and the open fields and uplands demonstrate the ability of working resource lands to co-exist with nesting and forage areas for Bald Eagles and Great Blue Herons.

Details: We won’t be working on all 361 acres during this event but on a smaller 15.5-acre portion called the Bell property that was purchased in 2014. Restoration took place to remove a house that was on site and now we must prepare the site for more plantings.

To Bring: Please come wearing appropriate clothing for wet, cold winter weather. We will provide warm beverages and snacks, gloves and tools.

RSVP: If you are interested in joining please RSVP as access to this property is difficult.
