Guemes Mountain Trail

Join Skagit Land Trust for a two-day trail stewardship event lead by Washington Trails Association December 3rd and 4th. Working along the Guemes Mountain Trail on Guemes Island, volunteers will help ready the trail  for visitors heading outside for winter hiking.

Bring sturdy trail footwear, dress and prepare for cold wet weather with layers,  add a sack lunch and head up to the top to see the expansive and protected 360-degree views.

General trail maintenance includes tasks such as:

  • Clearing ditches and clogged drainage features to prevent trail erosion
  • Removing excess organic material for trail sustainability
  • Clearing large branches from the trail for safety
