South Cascade River Planting

Feb 2016 21

12:00 PM to 3:00 PM
South Cascade River Conservation Area

Details: Join Skagit Land Trust to plant a wide variety of native trees, shrubs and ferns at our newest protected property - South Cascade River! This beautiful property on the south side of the Cascade River needs your help to establish native vegetation cover, improving wildlife habitat and filling in a disturbed former homesite. Please come wearing appropriate clothing for wet, cool weather and getting muddy. We will provide warm beverages and snacks, gloves and tools. If you bring lunch there's a wonderful spot to sit and eat by the river after the event.

Directions: To get to this property from Marblemount, follow the Cascade River Road across the Skagit instead of turning left to follow Hwy 20. Turn right on the Rockport Cascade Road (crossing over the Cascade River), and then take the 1st left onto the South Cascade Road. The property will be shortly ahead on your left - you'll see a Trust sandwich board on the side of the road. If you want to follow GPS directions, just head to 61399 S Cascade Rd, Marblemount.

*There will be a carpool organized from Sedro-Woolley - if you would like to join, please mention this in your RSVP and meet at the NE corner of the Food Pavilion parking lot by 11 AM. Staff and/or volunteers will be driving.

Please RSVP to volunteer@skagitlandtrust.org. Groups are welcome.
