Stewardship Volunteer Opportunity: Ivy Pull

Mar 2015 25

10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Minkler Lake Conservation Area

Minkler Lake IvyWe’ve got a bad infestation of English ivy at Minkler Lake Conservation Area! Help us pull the ivy off from trees and away from slopes and wetlands. This is a smaller, well-defined area so we’ll be able to make lot of progress and feel accomplished by the end of the work party! This work requires a lot of kneeling, pulling, and navigating steep slopes.

Directions: From I-5, travel east on Highway 20 until it intersects with Minkler Road to the south. The entrance to the work site is where these two roads intersect.

This Google map shows you an aerial of the site entrance, but it is out of date. There are concrete barriers in place now and we will park along the shoulder of Minkler Rd.

To Bring: Boots or waders, water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing. SLT will provide snacks, water, gloves, and tools.

Carpooling is highly recommended- contact Kay at volunteer@skagitlandtrust.org if you want to carpool.
