Join us for our Annual Members Appreciation Picnic at a barn near the base of Guemes Mountain. The Trust will provide the main dish and beverages. Members with the last names A-M are encouraged to bring appetizers or a salad and last names N-Z to bring a dessert to share. Optional guided hikes will be offered in the morning (now full). Transportation options: Carpooling or walking/bicycling onto the ferry is encouraged. Be sure to arrive early to the ferry. SLT will arrange for van pools to meet walk ons at the Guemes Ferry landing for the 10:45 and 11:15am ferries - upon departing, venture to the left towards the Guemes parking lot and look for people holding "SLT Event Van Pool" signs.
There is a 10:45am or 11:15am ferry that are most convenient to the picnic start time. Please note the after 11:15am, the next ferry is at 1:00pm. Bicycling to the picnic site will take apx. 15 minutes and walking 45 minutes. Review the ferry schedule to determine your options: Click here for the Guemes Ferry Schedule.
Directions from the Guemes Ferry terminal: turn right onto South Shore Road and travel 2.7 miles along the road as it follows the shoreline and then curves left (north). Just north of the Guemes Mountain trailhead, you will see a red and white barn and field on the left side of the road. There is plenty of parking here, although carpooling or bicycling is encouraged. Optional Guided Hikes up Guemes Mountain
Enjoy a guided hike to work up your appetite and appreciation of Guemes Mountain before the Annual Picnic. Hikers will walk 2 miles on ascending and descending terrain in all weather conditions. Space is limited and RSVP REQUIRED.
FULL - 8:45am Guemes Mountain Nature Walk with naturalist Libby Mills
Savor a few of nature's details on a walk up Guemes with naturalist Libby Mills. We may listen to a young bird learning it's song or watch a butterfly, reach for a wild berry or breathe in the scent of summer as we amble up to the view from the top.

FULL - 9:30am Guemes Mountain Geology Walk with geologist Scott Magorien
Scott Magorien, a summertime Guemes resident and geologist, has spent time studying the geology of Guemes Island and has some interesting bits of knowledge to share. Join him for a hike up the mountain to learn more about the processes that have formed Guemes Mountain.
