Come to this beautiful area off the South Skagit Highway to learn about wildlife and help maintain the trees planted several years ago! After removing the protectors, North Cascades Institute’s Science Coordinator Jeff Anderson will lead a naturalist’s walk about the species that inhabit this wildlife-rich area.
The site is a half-mile from the road, and we’ll cross a small stream. Please bring:
* Rubber boots
* A bag lunch
* Plenty of water
* A small garden spade or cutting tool if you have one (we’ll bring some too)
We'll also have gloves and home-baked muffins for you! This event is best for adults—kids will have a hard time taking off the protectors.
Parking is limited, so carpools will leave from the South Skagit Park and Ride (at the junction of the South Skagit Highway and Highway 9) at 9:30 AM. Please RSVP to mayacs@skagitlandtrust.org with whether you're coming and whether you can carpool. If you can't, we'll see you at 31035 Walberg Rd at 10am (google map: http://goo.gl/maps/K1YJ0.)
Hope you join us on the adventure!
