Molly Doran

Executive Director

Molly's career spans both land conservation and wilderness education. Before joining Skagit Land Trust in 2002, Molly spent over 20 years managing schools and teaching outdoor education in North and South America and Africa for the National Outdoor Leadership School. She holds a master's degree in managing and consulting from the Leadership Institute of Seattle at Bastyr University. Molly serves as a commissioner on the national Land Trust Accreditation Commission and as secretary of the Washington Association of Land Trusts.

Michael Kirshenbaum

Michael Kirshenbaum

Conservation Director

Michael is responsible for overseeing the acquisition and stewardship of the land trust's conservation areas and easements. He has been with the Trust since 2007 and previously worked at North Cascades National Park and in the non-profit advocacy sector in Washington, D.C. He has a M.S. in Geography - Natural Resource Policy from Western Washington University. Michael also serves on the board of directors of the Skagit Watershed Council.

Laura Hartner

Laura Hartner

Development and Communications Director

Most recently Laura has served as the Events and Communications Director at the Anacortes Chamber of Commerce. Laura's previous work includes Gretchen's, SeaBear, King 5 News and Northwest Public Radio. She runs the Sweet and Savory Pop-Up Bakery at local farmers markets and is co-founder of the Skagit Wedding Society. Laura will oversee Skagit Land Trust's fundraising, communications, marketing, and outreach.

Martha Frankel

Martha Frankel

Membership Manager

Martha worked 20 years in curatorial/administrative roles for cultural resource organizations in the north and middle west. Most recently, she assisted with Development and Membership in Montana for Yellowstone Public Radio and Montana Conservation Voters. Her undergraduate and graduate work was in Archaeology and Anthropology.

Kari Odden

Kari Odden

Conservation Project Manager

Kari works with conservation planning, project identification and development, and partner relations. She has been a member of the Skagit County Marine Resources Committee since 2006 and is the current chair. Previous work experience includes teaching, community outreach, and project coordination, in the U.S. and overseas. Kari has an M.S. in Environmental Science from Western Washington University.

Jane Zillig

Jane Zillig

Conservation Project Manager

Jane manages land acquisitions and also assists in facilitating property purchases for other non-profits and municipalities. Before joining the Trust in 2006, she worked 12 years as a senior paralegal for Seattle and Bellingham law firms and 10 years in local community/social service agencies. Jane has a double major in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin.

Regina Wandler

Regina Wandler

Stewardship Manager

Regina monitors and cares for the Trust’s conservation areas and easements. After serving as the AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator in 2010-11, she joined the Trust as staff. Regina has a Master’s in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Washington.

Lisa Miller

Lisa Miller

Stewardship and Outreach Associate

Lisa shares the Trust's mission by encouraging volunteerism; partners with organizations to engage residents and visitors in conservation; and assists with communications responsibilities. She has a diverse background in ecological restoration, volunteer leadership and client services. Lisa has a Master’s in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Washington.

Hannah Williams

Hannah Williams

AmeriCorps Member 2016-2017

Hannah will be serving as Community Stewardship and Engagement Volunteer Coordinator. With her background in youth development and experience implementing new programs at Boys & Girls Club of the Long Beach Peninsula; Hannah will serve to enhance our reach to the next generation. She is very interested in how environmental policies and management can help facilitate outdoor education. Hannah has a BA from University of Washington in Environmental Studies.

Event Coordinator

Debbie plans and oversees the Trust’s social and fundraising events throughout the year. She has worked as an Interior Designer for over 20 years and is the Owner-Innkeeper of a local Vacation Cottage. Debbie studied Interior Design at Bellevue College.

Michele Onorato

Michele Onorato

Bookkeeper

Michele has worked as an accountant in Skagit County for over 20 years. She especially enjoys working with charitable organizations and has worked with the Skagit Land Trust since 2001. Michele has a B.S. in Accounting and passed the CPA exam in 2000. She also founded and runs the Cat’s Meow, a non-profit cat adoption center in Anacortes.
