SLT Reads

We are excited to announce a unique experience for our members. Introducing SLT Reads! A book club focused on reading environmentally themed books created to keep us learning about the natural world. While we can't gather to discuss the book, we will have the opportunity to connect virtually via Zoom to share our thoughts and comments after reading. Sign up here!

This month we will be reading the book Natural Grace: The Charm, Wonder, and Lessons of Pacific Northwest Animals and Plants by: William Dietrich, illustrated by one of our long time members, Brenda Cunningham.

“From the interactive clockwork world of geology, tides, Northwest weather, and snow, to the hidden roles of dirt, stream life, and mosses and lichens, Pulitzer Prize winning writer William Dietrich explores the natural splendors of the Pacific Northwest. His topics include alder and cedar; jellyfish, geoducks, crabs, and killer whales; mosquitoes and spiders; gulls, crows, and bald eagles; and sea otters, coyotes, raccoons, possums, deer, and cougars.”

On Wednesday, June 24th from 5:00-6:30pm via Zoom we will gather to discuss the book and will be joined by the author, William Dietrich, who will share some background behind the research and writing that went into writing this book. Participants should come with their comments or questions about the book for Mr. Dietrich to answer during the book club discussion.

Signing up is mandatory so that you will recieve all SLT Reads updates. Please Click Here to Sign Up. After you sign up, you will receive an email with more information.
