Please join Skagit Land Trust at our largest complex of protected lands, Barney Lake Conservation Area to help restore this jewel on the edge of Mount Vernon. This highly diverse wetland, river and lake complex provides critical resting grounds for wintering waterfowl, and fish habitat throughout the year. 

Details: During this stewardship event we will be be planting trees and shrubs in partnership with Skagit River System Cooperative (SRSC) in a remote part of the property where there is not currently public access, so this is a great way to see an up-close view of this special conservation area!

Directions: From Mount Vernon take College Way (Highway 538) east to Martin Road, turn left. Turn right on to McLaughlin Road and then left on McLaughlin Extension Road. Parking is limited carpooling is recommended.

To bring: This area can be very wet and muddy, muck boots are a must!! Weather and work appropriate clothing, water bottle to refill.
