Community Outreach

May 2017 6

10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Holiday Sports Burlington

Community Outreach volunteers needed to help at Skagit Land Trust info booth.

This is the primary event for the Washington Brant Foundation, which helps support the education and conservation efforts focused on the Pacific Black Brant.

The Washington Brant Foundation, much like Ducks Unlimited, is a science based waterfowl conservation organization focused specifically on the Black Brant, a sea goose that winters along the Pacific Coast, from southern BC and Puget Sound all the way to Baja CA. They spend summers in Coastal and Arctic Alaska and Western Arctic Canada.

It is also the State judging for the WA Ducks Unlimited decoy contest, with the top 3 being auctioned at the Ducks Unlimited State Convention in June.

We need 2 volunteers to help represent Skagit Land Trust at a display table; talking to guests about youth programs, local conservation efforts, ways to get involved and recreational opportunities. Volunteers are encouraged to ask guests to sign up for email announcements to join other volunteer activities.

Details: The event will take place at Holiday Sports in Burlington (895 Nevitt Road Burlington, WA). Volunteers are needed from 10:00am - 2:00pm.

R.S.V.P: Please let us know if you would like to volunteer for this event by calling (360) 428-7878 or emailing lisam@skagitlandtrust.org
