John Tursi Trail Ribbon Cutting

June 4th Ribbon Cutting at 12pm at the Old Ginnett Homestead on South Fidalgo Island

Join us on National Trails Day for the ribbon cutting of the new Tursi Trail. The ribbon cutting will take place at the Old Ginnett Homestead at 12pm. This trail provides an important connection for both local hikers and long-distance travelers on the Pacific Northwest Trail.  The trail traverses both Deception Pass State Park land and across private lands via a trail easement held by Skagit County Parks and Recreation.  Skagit Land Trust assisted in securing the trail easements and designing interpretive guides for the trail.

Due to limited parking space, please meet at Sharpe Park (map) starting at 11:15am for shuttle service to the trailhead. To reserve in advance RSVP by e-mailing Brian Adams at briana@co.skagit.wa.us.

*Those that would like to hike from Pass Lake (map) to the Old Ginnett Homestead can meet at Pass Lake parking lot at 11am. After the ribbon cutting at 12pm, hikers can continue their trek on the final section of the Tursi Trail.  A commuter van will be made available to take hikers back to the Pass Lake parking lot.
