• 7:45 - 8:30pm: “Comedy, Economics, and Climate Change” - Guest Speaker: Stand-up Economist Yoram Bauman

Yoram Bauman PhD bills himself as the world’s first and only Stand-up Economist. He specializes in presenting on the economics of environmental and public finance issues via the art of comedy. Yoram has appeared in TIME Magazine and on PBS and NPR and is currently a fellow at Sightline Institute in Seattle, where he is working on the economics of climate change. He was the project economist for "Impacts of Climate Change on Washington's Economy" commissioned by Washington State. This report focuses on the projected economic impacts of climate change in the first half of the 21st century in economic sectors including agriculture, forestry, hydropower, municipal water use, public health, and snow sports. Climate change is a critical issue for all of us and a challenge for those of us involved in long-term conservation. At our Annual Meeting, Yoram will present some comedy about economics and politics and then make his case for a way to tackle climate change and reform our tax system at the same time.
