FIELD EVENT VOLUNTEERING: Cumberland Creek Trail Maintenance

Jun 2011 17

10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Cumberland Creek, South Skagit Highway

Join us for our annual trail maintenance on the lovely Cumberland Creek property!  After Keith mows the trail, we will head out with long sleeves, leather gloves and long handled loppers to clip back the blackberry encroaching on our beloved trail system.  This is one of our most accessible property trails, with an interpretive guide developed last year by Emerson High School students, through forest, over the meandering Cumberland Creek, along an oxbow pond, and to the banks of the Skagit.  Bring your lunch and enjoy it by the side of the Skagit on a June day!  Please RSVP to Regina at reginaw@skagitlandtrust.org.

Driving directions: Take the South Skagit Hwy 12 to 13 miles east from SR 9, outside of Clear Lake.  Look for the house number 34183 on the north side of the road.  Turn north into the driveway, then left at the fork to enter the trust property.

Carpooling: If you are able to carpool, please meet at the South Skagit Park and Ride (the lot located at the intersection of SR 9 and South Skagit Hwy) at 9:40.  Space is somewhat limited at the property, so carpooling is encouraged.
