M.A. in Soil Science (University of Idaho) with 12 years of experience working in the environmental and conservation fields. Grew up in Marblemount and enjoys the challenge of working for both environmental and economic betterment in her community. Joined board in 2010.

Still works part time to resolve construction disputes as a Disputes Resolution Board member, arbitrator and mediator. Member ASCE and American Arbitration Association. Enjoys sailing, photogrpahy and fly fishing among many hobbies. Joined Board in 2009.

A Registered Nurse employed in healthcare for 30 years. Certified Mediator and past Director of Skagit County Mediation Services. Graduated from Leadership Skagit, served as co-facilitator for the 2006 program. Joined Board in 2005.

Carolyn Gastellum

Retired educator having taught four years in Arizona and sixteen years at fifth grade in Mount Vernon schools. M.S. in Education from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Actively involved as a co-steward for Guemes Mountain, board member and volunteer for Transition Fidalgo & Friends, and Skagit Climate Steward. Substitute teacher for Anacortes School District. Joined Board in 2011.

Co-founder of North Cascades Family Physicians. Retired family practitioner. Presently serves on the board of Children of the Valley and Secret Harbor. Joined Board in 2009.

Retired Attorney. Worked for the Swinomish Tribe for 25 years, most recently as Chief Judge of the Tribal Court. Past Chair of the Western Washington Fellowship of Reconciliation and Skagit Audubon. Joined Board in 2005.

Proprietor of Guemes Island Resort on Guemes Island where he has maintained his residence for the past 10 years. Formally trained as a Fine Art Photographer with a focus on landscape & environmentally sensitive subjects. Joined Board in 2010.

Principal of Miller Consulting. Three decades of experience in land planning, natural resource management and design. Formerly of Jones & Jones, Architects and Landscape Architects in Seattle. Joined the Board in 2001.

Barbara Trask

Ph.D. Retired as a senior vice president of the Human Biology Division at the Fred Hutchinson Research Center in Seattle. Barb played a significant role in the Human Genome Project and devoted her career to the study of the genetic basis for cancer and other diseases. Joined board in 2011.
