In honor of the 50th annual Earth Day, we are celebrating Earth Week from 4/20 - 4/26 and are encouraging you to steward in place! Feel free to check out this previous blog post for some additional ideas on how to steward in place.
Each day of the week we will have a different stewardship challenge for you! Participants will be entered into a drawing to win some SLT merchandise. Be sure to check this post daily for a new challenge, the challenges will also be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Please remember to practice social distancing while participating in stewardship activities.
Sunday, April 26th
Today’s Stewardship Challenge is: Invasive Removal! If you have an invasive species in your yard that we haven’t already listed this week, now is your chance to remove it and be entered in our drawing! Send a photo of yourself removing an invasive plant in your yard today to americorps.stewardship@skagitlandtrust.org for a chance to win Skagit Land Trust swag. Molly, our executive director, has been working on getting rid of Himalayan blackberry in her yard. Check out those roots she pulled! Saturday, April 25th
Today’s Stewardship Challenge is: Clean Up for the Planet! There are a number of ways cleaning up can help the Earth. A boot brushing station can help prevent the spread of invasive seeds while picking up trash can remove waste from the environment. However you choose to Clean up for the Planet, just remember to practice social distancing and stay close to home!
