Guemes Geology Hike

Details: Please join the Skagit Land Trust with local geologist Scott Petersen for a guided hike exploring the the story of the rocks on the Guemes Mountain Trail. The hike is 1.2 miles with moderate steepness, but with wonderful opportunities to catch your breath and take in the view.
Please leave your dog at home for this public event. However, the trail does allow dogs on leash to protect the sensitive vegetation.

Due to parking limitations, areas of sensitive vegetation on the trail and to ensure everyone can hear Scott present there is a capacity of 20 participants for this outing, please RSVP to hold your space. 

Directions: From the Guemes Island Ferry Terminal head east on South Shore Road for 1.5 miles. Turn left to stay on South Shore Road, the trail-head will be on your right in a half mile. More details and ferry schedule can be found by following the link above.

Carpooling (from either ferry landing) or riding your bike to the trail-head is recommended as there are only a few parking spaces. Contact us if you would like help making carpool arrangements.
