Guemes Mountain

Join us for a thistle pull from 9 AM to lunchtime on the new trail!  Now that it's in, we've got to keep it in tip-top shape.    The more, the merrier - thistle is a tricky opponent!  It's taking advantage of the newly cleared trail and recently disturbed soil, and quickly establishing itself alond the edges.  We'd like your help to remove the thistle before it spreads over more of the beautiful mountain.  We'll supply gardening gloves, but if you ahve leather gloves you may want to bring them, as well as long sleeves and pants, water, and lunch.

Please RSVP to reginaw@skagitlandtrust.org!

Driving Directions: Catch the 8:30 ferry from Anacortes to Guemes Island.  Drive straight off the ferry onto Guemes Island Rd for 1.5 miles.  Turn right on Edens Rd (this is the corner of Schoolhouse Park).  Drive Edens Rd for 1 mile.  Stay to the right at the Y on to Southshore Rd.  Drive .5 miles, and parking will be on your left in the shiny new gravel parking lot at the trailhead!

Carpooling: Contact Regina at reginaw@skagitlandtrust.org to arrange carpooling from Mount Vernon or Anacortes.
